My apologies for posting so late. I have a bad case of strep and have been trying to keep myself awake long enough to do anything productive. I will be absent AGAIN tomorrow, but the substitute in my room is a veteran teacher and is continuing the work every day.
Here are a few updates:
1. Popcorn parties! I am sure some of you may have heard about the potential of a classroom "Popcorn Party". In the classroom, we have started to earn popcorn kernels as reward for making good choices. These kernels are put into a bucket in the front of the room. Once the kids have earned a bucket full of popcorn, we are going to have a popcorn/movie party to celebrate all of our hard work! Our party will be Monday! The kids have worked so hard to earn these kernels. I am so proud of them!
2. Strep is present in our room. I know on Monday, we had three children go home. If your child is feeling ill, take a look to see if their throats look red or spotted! If they have to miss school, I will catch them up! Do not worry about it.
3. Parent-Teacher conferences are quickly approaching! Each slot is only 10 minutes. If there is something specific grade/subject you would like to discuss, please email me. I will take note of your request and this will help me guide the conference efficiently.
4. Just a reminder: Please try and keep all Lego toys and Pokemon cards at home. These toys have become a source of issue in the classroom. If I find a child playing with these kinds of toys, they will be taken away for the day. If it is a recurring issue, I will hold the toys until a parent asks for the toys back.
